Create a culture of perseverance and confidence at your school through Growth Mindset assemblies, parent nights, staff development, and video curriculum.
The outcomes of the Growth Mindset assemblies are to help students feel excited to learn new things (rather than feeling afraid or discouraged) and to help them persevere when they encounter challenges in their educational and personal lives. These lessons are based on the research of Carol Dweck (author of Mindset) and Angela Duckworth (author of GRIT). Many schools use Dr. Blake’s programs to meet their Title I, Title IV, PBIS, AVID, and Leader in Me programming requirements.
Dr. Blake has presented the Growth Mindset assembly to over 535,000 students, educators, and parents in 41 states and internationally. When the pandemic hit and schools migrated to virtual learning, he transformed the Growth Mindset presentation into an engaging and interactive live virtual assembly.
The virtual assembly addresses the unique challenges students are facing today and provides tools they can use to reframe their perspectives, discover their passion, and thrive in times of chaos and uncertainty.
In order to provide deeper support for students and their families, we offer a 60-minute parent night presentation. This presentation provides practical tools parents, guardians, and caring adults can use to better understand and implement the Growth Mindset with their children. Parent nights are offered both in-person and virtually.
The virtual presentation specifically addresses how parents can help their children navigate life’s challenges and learn to master resiliency during and after the pandemic. The presentation also addresses the struggles students have faced with distance learning and the return to in-person instruction.
For staff, we offer a professional development workshop that shares key concepts and skills for educators to use in the classroom to complement the lessons students learned in the Growth Mindset assembly and video curriculum program.
Throughout the workshop, we explore SEL activities that teach metacognition and how to use specific language that helps students overcome their internal blocks. This workshop gives teachers the resources and tools to help them feel confident in their ability to use the Growth Mindset to support their students throughout the entire school year and beyond.
The Power of the Growth Mindset video program launches the excitement and passion ignited at Dr. Blake’s Growth Mindset assemblies into the classroom.
Using 40 years of neuroscience research and expanding on the work of psychologist Dr. Carol Dweck (author of Mindset) and academic Angela Duckworth (author of GRIT), we share the tools and skills to help students follow their passion, learn new things, overcome challenges, and be resilient in times of difficulty and uncertainty.
